Perhaps you have a big event or new job coming up and you need to feel prepared. Or, you just feel clueless in general about how to put yourself together and you need a little guidance. Having someone with an objective and expert eye looking at your wardrobe with you can make all the difference and answer many questions. How can a fashion stylist/personal shopper simplify my wardrobe?
By helping you eliminate the things that don't work for you and guide you in making new choices that suit your style, body shape, budget, lifestyle, and personality.
Where does a wardrobe consultation take place?
You have a choice: your closet or my studio, whichever suits your needs, preference and budget.
What does it cost to work with a personal shopper?
$200/hr. There is a $35 travel charge for any consultation under 2 hours. There is no travel fee for 2 hours or more of consultation. The only other charge is if there are parking fees incurred (that depends on where we shop). Finding styles you wouldn't normally have chosen but love and doing it efficiently are two of the benefits of working with us. In general, we can accomplish more together than you can alone.
During a wardrobe consultation, do I have to get rid of a lot of things?
Our role as fashion stylists is to guide you in making decisions about your existing wardrobe. You make the final decision about what to get rid of, store away, give to a friend or relative, have altered, or keep.
How organized do I need to be in advance of a wardrobe consultation?
That's completely up to you. Some clients lay things out that they are particularly interested in looking at and others just open their closet doors and we start at the very beginning! Of course, if the consultation happens at Total Image Consultants' studio, then more preparation is necessary to determine what to bring with you.
Do I choose where we shop or does the personal shopper?
Personal shoppers do not impose their tastes on you — that's critical to know. Choosing where to shop is a collaborative effort. We guide you based on your lifestyle, body shape, personal style and budget. We can shop at any store from Target and Sears to Nordstrom and Newbury Street in Boston.
What if I don't have a large budget for shopping?
That's fine. We tailor our personal shopping experience to meet your needs and budget.
Does Total Image Consultants Fashion Stylists and Personal Shoppers work with plus size women?
We work with women of all sizes and shapes. About 1/3 of our clients are plus size and at least another 1/3 wear a size to 3 sizes different on top and bottom. We believe all women, regardless of size and shape, are beautiful. Our goal as fashion stylists and personal shoppers is to help you feel and radiate that beauty!

Just one thing. As personal shoppers, we have one shopping rule: You must try on anything we ask you to try on. You don't have to buy it, but trying it on can be eye opening and expand your options of colors, styles, and fabrics that look good on you!
How long is a personal shopping consultation?
That's up to you. The average is 2 hours but it can be shorter or longer depending on your needs and budget.
